What is a Turkish towel?
Put simply, it's your new favorite towel. Their history stems from Turkish baths and are considered the first towel ever. They're large, thin towels, typically with fringes.
How are these different from "regular" towels?
The biggest difference is the type of weave. A Turkish towel is a flat weave where a "regular" towel is a terry cloth (loop weave). The flat weave allows the towel to be compact, super absorbent and fast drying. The Bali Market towels are 100% Turkish cotton which get softer and more absorbent over time vs. a terry cloth towel that can get stiff and scratchy with prolonged use.
How do I use a Turkish towel?
There are so many ways to use a Turkish towel. Here's a few to get you started:

Are all Turkish towels the same?
No, not at all. The type of cotton and loom used and the artisan's skills will all affect the quality of Turkish towels. 100% Turkish cotton, hand-loomed and made in Turkey are a few cornerstones of quality Turkish towels.
Can Turkish towels go in the dryer?
Yes. It's easy to learn how to wash Turkish towels. You can wash on gentle with a small amount of detergent (you really don't need much) and tumble dry low, or air dry. They dry quickly and it's important not to over-dry your towel.
Will they shrink?
Yes, our towels are 100% cotton and not pre-shrunk, so you will notice shrinkage of your towel. This is not a defect. The shrinking is natural and part of the reason why your towel will soften with use.
How do I fix an untied fringe
Fringes come untied from time to time. Follow this step-by-step process to fix it:
1. Separate the threads into two equal sections
2. Twist both sections clockwise
3. Twist both sections together counter-clockwise
4. Knot at the end
My towel has pink splotches. What happened?
Pink splotches or otherwise light discoloration, is caused by bleach. Most commonly this occurs when bleach residue is in the washer from a previous load, or from beauty products containing Benzoyl Peroxide. This is not from a defect in the towel, just a natural reaction from contact with a bleaching agent.
